The Story

Patented in Canada and the USA. Made in Canada.

The Single Track Bypass™ Barn Door Hardware, designed by Canadian studio 1925Workbench, is an innovative sliding door system that allows two doors to glide smoothly on a single track—eliminating the need for the bulky double-track setup found in traditional bypass systems.

This beautiful and functional bypass barn door hardware is a true statement piece. It’s ideal for spaces with large openings but limited wall clearance—where you don’t have enough room on both sides for full door travel. Crafted from high-quality materials such as brass and steel, and available in multiple finishes, this system blends durability with refined design.

Please read installation instructions before purchasing — see the Installation Guide for more information.

The track can be customized to your exact length. Please contact us and include the details below for a custom quote:

Style: Top Mount / Face Mount / Bi-Part
Finish: Brass / Raw Steel / Stainless Steel / Black
Length:
Pre-drilled or Not drilled:
***PLEASE NOTE: If you choose NOT PRE-DRILLED, a hole 1.5″ in from each end will still be drilled so the track can be hung for powder coating.

Made and designed in Toronto by 1925Workbench.

Specifications

Bypass System

  • Available in two configurations:
  1. Telescopic: Both doors move together in a telescoping motion, allowing access to the full opening. Requires wall space to park the doors when open.
  2. Standard: Each door moves independently in front of the opening, providing access to half the space at a time. Not recommended for openings less than 60” wide.

Pre-Drilled vs. Non Pre-Drilled Holes

  • Pre-drilling available — please specify when ordering. Select pre-drilled or not pre-drilled depending on your installation needs.
  • Pre-drilled holes are spaced evenly every 14.75” – 17.25” along the track.
  • Pre-drilled tracks must be mounted on a backing piece to ensure the door clears baseboards or moldings.
  • Not pre-drilled tracks can be installed directly to the wall if baseboards are flush and there is adequate blocking within the wall.
  • Please Note: For Black Powder Coated “Not Pre-drilled” orders, a 1.5″ hole will still be drilled at each end for hanging during the powder coating process.

Track Length & Measuring

  • To determine track length: order at least twice the width of the door plus a minimum of 2" on each side for overlap.
  • The door should be 4" wider than the opening (2" overlap per side) and large enough to cover any door casing if applicable.
  • Tracks over 93" are shipped in two pieces.
  • Recommended headroom: 8"-10" (minimum 6").

Weight Capacity

  • Rated for doors up to 200 lbs per pair of hangers. Actual capacity varies depending on wall structure and mounting method.

Custom Finishes

  • For custom powder coating, a small hole (5/16" diameter) is drilled at each end for fabrication. This applies to both “Drilled” and “Non-Drilled” orders. For Single Track Bypass, holes are 1" from the end; for other hardware, 1.5".

Material(s)

Crafted from solid brass, stainless steel, and other high-quality metals to ensure long-term durability and aesthetic appeal.

High-quality solid brass rollers with double built-in ball bearings deliver smooth, quiet, and stable door motion.
